The Battle for the Bronze began as Korea and England hit the field on the last day of the tournament. It was a tough match, but Korea took advantage of opportunities and got themselves 3rd place in the BDO World Cup with a score of 2-1 against England.
Neither teams could convert shots or corners and the first half remained score-less. The second half brought a lot of back and forth action and Korea was the first to capitalize off a corner when #3 Seul Ki Cheon scored in the 41st minute.
England was looking to even the score and in the 52nd minute, #3 Jenny Hall also scored off a penalty corner, tying the score 1-1. With 12 minutes left, England is dominating, but it is Korea's #5 Kim Dayoung who scores in the 58th minute with a beautiful drag flick into the net.
The game continued and both teams created perfect opportunities, but the final score remained the same. The clock ran down and as the Korean girls hugged with happiness, England fell to their knees on the field. Korea will walk away with the Bronze medal in the BDO World Cup and England takes fourth.
