22.08.2011 - In the second match in the group A, Belgium dominated the team from Russia and won commanding 7:1 (3:0). Especially, Jérome Dekeyser with three goals and Cédric Charlier with two goals performed very well.
Belgium had a good start. In the third minute, Jérome Dekeyser scored after a short corner. After this, the Belgium team was faster and smarter than their east european opponents. Inspite of a sharp angle, Simon Gougnard scored the second and youngster Tom Boon scored the third goal after a short corner. Hence, Belgium led 3:0 after the first half. After break, the Belgium team started like they ended the first half and the Russian team performed again below par.
In the 37th minute, Jérome Dekeyser scored again after a short corner. A few minutes later, the 27 years old player scored his third goal in the game. Surprisingly, Alexander Zhirkov scored with a powerful hit the Russian consolation goal in the 54th minute. Inspite of this, the Belgium offense performed well until the end of the match. Cédric Charlier scored the 6:1 from short distance and the final and deserved 7:1.
