22.08.2011 - In a hard-fought match, the team from Ireland won 2:0 against France and received the first three points. The Irish players dominated the game, the French team tried to score a goal with counter-attacks. Ireland had a lot of opportunities to score a goal, but the French goalkeeper Henri-Julien Lhomme performed very well several times.
The match became rougher. At the end of the game, the umpires gave eight time penalties. Like in the first half, the Irish team was better, in the second 35 minutes. After a rude foul in the circle, the umpires declared a seven meter to Ireland.
John Jermyn used his chance and scored the 1:0. Twelve minutes later, the umpires gave a second seven meter to Ireland, after a illegal block inside the circle. John Jermyn converted the penalty again. So, the game ended 2:0 and Ireland has a good opportunity to reach the staying up.
